We are supporting one of our student volunteers;Molly, she wanted to organise a summer fete to raise money for Keynsham Mencap, along with her friends Jemima, Leah and 24 other friends and volunteers, they have prepared everything themselves, they’ve spoken to local businesses for support, and have some great attractions and activities organised including some excellent raffle prizes. So if you are in Keynsham on the 5th August please pop in to say hello.

Molly is a volunteer at our Thursday night 18+ Club and Juniors club, she is 16 and has been involved in raising funds for local charities for quite a while, she’s taken part in sponsored runs for Cancer Research, for a local child with additional needs and table top sales for the children’s ward at the RUH, she really is a true inspiration

She’s just finished her GCSEs and before she completely chills out for the summer is now working on making the summer fete a huge success.

We can’t thank Molly enough for all the hard work and dedication she has put in to the organising of this fete. We hope to attract many people to this family friendly event that is being held on Saturday 5th August at The Scout Hut, Ashton Way Keynsham.

Keynsham and District Mencap Society is completely self-funding so relies heavily on the support of the local community. It is amazing to have the help and support from the local students, not only in giving up their time to volunteer at our clubs but to also want to support and raise money for us too.

Please do come and support us on the day.
