A Fabulous Night at Mamma Mia! The Musical

On Wednesday 19th November, members, volunteers and staff from Keynsham Mencap enjoyed a fabulous trip to the Bristol Hippodrome to see the smash-hit musical Mamma Mia!

What a fantastic night! The members were buzzing on the coach journey there – everyone was incredibly excited. Once we arrived, we took our seats, and some of us headed off to pick up souvenirs and programmes before the show began. A few members even dressed up in amazing ABBA-inspired outfits, complete with sparkles and flared trousers!

When the music kicked in, the excitement on everyone’s faces was clear. It was an amazing show. We danced and sang along to all our ABBA favourites, including Dancing Queen, Voulez-Vous, Super Trouper, and Thank You for the Music. The cast brought the story to life with brilliant energy, and the music was absolutely fantastic.

One of the highlights was the finale, when the cast performed a medley of ABBA hits in spectacular disco costumes. Our members absolutely loved it, clapping along, waving their hands in the air, and some of us even danced on the steps!

We’re incredibly proud of how enthusiastic and supportive our group was throughout the evening. Trips like this are a wonderful way for our members to enjoy new experiences, build independence, and have fun together as a group.
