We go bowling at Club25.  It’s nice the Hollywood Bowl in Brislington.  You can make lots of friends.  Club 25 goes on trips and we go everywhere.  It’s really nice.   The Club is on Thursday nights at 7.30-9.30 so the timings are good.  I think a lot of the volunteers are really nice. That’s why I like it.

Deano is my friend.  I met him through Keynsham Mencap.  One of the good things about going to Mencap is that you meet loads of people.  When we go bowling, we split the teams.  John is my friend.  He’s quite quiet sometimes, but when he is with his mum, he’s different.  A lot of people are like that.

My Own Place

I have my own place now.  I come to my mum’s sometimes and I like being at mine.  It’s very tidy.  My sister is the complete opposite.  I like it tidy, and I can’t stand mess.  My new place has a new sofa which I chose in DFS.  It’s red, which is my favourite.  A lot of the things are red in my kitchen.  I like red.  My next-door neighbour is a postie. 

Fitness Club

I go to Fitness Club on Monday night.  It’s really big the hall where we have it.  We do different things there every week.  The leader’s wife has just had a baby.  He’s a personal trainer.  He is good at what he does.  He is bossy, assertive bossy, in a nice way.  Determination. I need a bit of that. With work I need it too.  Jemima is the Deputy and she’s really nice.  I get on very well with her.  She is a nice person.  She helps everyone.  She’s got a nice way with her. 

Work

I work at Sainsburys.  I’ve been doing it years.  One of the managers is really nice to me.   The new manager is a bit nervous because he is new.  I told him he’ll be fine.  I work in the online section.  I clean the totes.  Sometimes I work in other places.  Sometimes I collect cardboard around the shop. Sometimes I talk to the customers, but not too much. 

Music Man

Naomi (the Club Leader) is amazing.  I like singing.  I sing to the radio.  I like Billy Joel’s Uptown Girl and I love modern music.  I try to get everyone to join in.  That is why people come to Music Man Project Keynsham: to join in with songs.

I like reading romance, or anything.  On a beach I find reading comforting.  When I go on holiday, I make sure I download some books.  I’m happiest reading my magazines doing nothing exciting, being quiet and being myself.  That is what makes me happy.  I am a shaking hands person.  I’m not a hugger.  Some people are huggers, but not me.  I tell people so that they know.

The Mencap holiday is coming soon.  Last year we stayed on a farm and the cockerel woke me up in the morning!  They are lovely, but at 4 o’clock in the morning I didn’t want them making that noise!  The holidays are good for making friends.  We eat a lot and drink a lot together.
