Music Leader required on alternate Saturday mornings for a music group for adults with learning disabilities and autism based at Sir Bernard Lovell Academy in Oldland Common, Bristol.
We are looking for someone with musical skills and knowledge that can lead a new music project for people with learning disabilities.
You will need to be enthusiastic, fun, and patient, and have the ability to deliver enjoyable and engaging music experiences for the group members.
Complete teaching resources, strategies, sheet music, handbook and song album provided as well as mentoring and support from the project founder, current leader and volunteer helpers.
We’re keen to hear from people whatever their musical background; for us it is more important that the successful candidate understands our group members and can adapt to deliver sessions that are suitable and engaging for them.
Music Man Project can be delivered in a variety of ways and with different lead instruments. The founder leads his sessions on a keyboard but there are other groups that are led by a guitarist, and one project that is being delivered by music students. We have a number of backing tracks that we utilise. The project has a lot of flexibility.
£15.45 ph 6 hours per a week (every other week) plus supporting at ad-hoc performances
