Sponsored cycle ride, walk, scoot and wheelchair push.

On Sunday 16th September we took to the Bristol to Bath Cycle track for our annual sponsored event.  Starting and finishing at the Bird in Hand pub 60 participants either cycled, scooted or walked to Avon Valley Railway Station at Bitten; some went as far as Bath for a longer distance.  Sausage and chips lunch for everyone who took part, kindly provided by Richard and his staff at the Bird in Hand pub.

Well done to everyone who took part, it’s a great achievement to complete the event and thank you for the sponsorship.  So far we have raised £1600, and there is still more money to come in we will keep you posted on the final totals.  Thank you to Barry, Niall, Hazel, Nicola and Karen for helping on the day, it went smoothly and everyone was smiling.

This year we welcomed some new participants including the staff from the Keynsham Branch of Santander, they have been fundraising for us in the branch throughout September. We always appreciate support from local businesses and the community whether it is via donations, volunteering or helping to raise awareness.

The weather was perfect and stayed dry for us which is always a bonus. This is always a popular event for our members, friends and families, there are no set distances all we ask is that you come along and do what you feel you can do and more importantly enjoy the day when you meet up with friends.  Check out all our photos on our Facebook page

Keep a look out for our next event the Quiz Saturday 10th November at St Dunstan’s Church Hall.  Tickets £5 each. There will be a bar, raffle and a fun night to be had.
