How do we Fundraise?
We are a self-funding charity. We do not receive any regular funding from National Mencap nor the local authorities that we operate in. In essence we raise all the money ourselves to enable the society to run as it is; therefore we need to find over £100,000 per year.
In order to raise the funds we need we apply for grants from larger funding bodies, we receive funding from donations from our supporters, we work hard to make links with local businesses and organisations. We are very grateful to have donations via this means and throughout the year from member’s friends and families.
We arrange around 4 fundraising events throughout the year where we try to include a mix of different types of events in the hope of attracting a wide audience. Not only are these events important for helping us to raise vital funds, it is also an opportunity to meet with other families and members of the Society offer fun community events.
