Kit Kettel Star Achiever Award

The Kit Kettel Star Achiever Award was launched in 2022 and is an annual presentation where we celebrate a personal achievement of one of our members.

The award is named after our late Trustee Kit Kettel in recognition of the enormous impact Kit had on the Society.

Kit’s support of the society over the years was on-going both through his generosity and his active participation as a trustee and well-respected advisor. He helped establish the Keynsham Mencap family home at The Avenue in Keynsham and remained Chairman of the Trustees for 24 years.

Those members who have been nominated were chosen by club leaders to be recognised for their specific accomplishment. A fitting tribute to someone who achieved so much himself.

Achievement for the individual can be measured in so many different ways. For instance, someone who has overcome fear and uncertainty to take part in club activities or someone who has achieved a personal milestone.

There were 15 finalists, but our overall winner for 2022 is:

Noah Holthius – Go Explore Member

Noah is someone who has shown tremendous courage in never giving up and is always trying; growing in confidence as he has attempted and managed new challenges. He has pushed himself out of his comfort zone and has gained satisfaction of that sense of achievement.
