Volunteer at Club25 – a fun social club

Volunteer at Club25 and join a team who support people with learning disabilities to live happy and healthy lives by taking part in fun activities.

When: Thursday evenings, 7.30-9.30pm

Where: St Dunstan’s Church Hall, 20 Bristol Road, Keynsham, BS31 2BQ

The Volunteer Role

Are you fun, enthusiastic, and caring? Would you like to make a difference to the life of people with learning disabilities in your community? Do you want to have fun whilst doing something rewarding!?

We run a social club each week where we offer members a choice between an activity in the hall or an activity in the community.

Our programme of activities in the hall is broad with a focus on fun. Examples include discos, sports & games, movies, bingo, gardening, gameshow, silent disco, line dancing, circus skills, pamper night, quiz around town, race night, salsa dancing, picnic in the park and many more.

Our programme of trips into the community involve us taking members out in one of our two minibuses to activities such as crazy golf, bowling, pub visit, a meal out, karaoke room, woodland adventure, boat trip, dessert house, trampolining, pantomime and many more.

We do themed nights/discos too such as Christmas, Valentines, Easter, Summer BBQ and Halloween.

We also do day trips and special events throughout the year, for examples:

Millfield Day – a day at Millfield School where the staff and students put on 50+ activities for people with learning disabilities in the region.

Uproar – a nightclub at Komedia in Bath for people with learning disabilities that happens once a quarter on a Monday evening.

Bob Cook Games – a sports day on a weekend day in the summer.

About the Team

Club25 is run by a Club Leader and a Deputy Club Leader who are in turn supported by a team of volunteers. Without our volunteers our clubs could not run so we need people like you to join our volunteering team so we can continue to facilitate these fabulous and fun opportunities.

When do I need to be available?

We ask volunteers for their availability just before each programme is published. Programmes cover an 8 week period and volunteers can put their names down according to their availability.

Some volunteers do every week, others do every fortnight and a few others do what they can. Regular volunteering allows us to plan and also grow the Club to allow more members to attend from our waiting list.
